My next fight with v2 was against Amontialdo Brick. It was basically what its name suggests. A brick. With two-wheel drive, it couldn't drive in a straight line very well, and its wheels weren't held on to the motors very securely either.

Amontialldo Brick

Before the fight, I was feeling fairly confident... (a strange feeling for me). When the fight started, it seemed like Amontialldo Brick ran into the wall right behind where he started, and then stayed there in the corner barely moving for the rest of the fight. I drove slowly but steadily over to his corner with the blade up at full speed. I drove right into him on the first hit, and my blade dug into his thin steel armor fairly easily. I backed up to hit him again, but my weapon bearings had once again fallen partly out of their places and the shaft collar was touching the ground. I turned the VSC to high and drove around the arena for a bit, looking for an uneven spot where my shaft collar wouldn't drag on the ground so I could spin up the blade, but Amontialldo's driver tapped out before I could beat up on him some more.
Win for Me!

Pics of the damage:

After the fight, I brought Kris back to my table and examined him. The bearings hadn't fallen completely out of their holes this time, so I did my best to shove them back into place without taking the bot apart again. I also added a few strips of neoprene rubber around the wheels to try to get more ground clearance so that my shaft collar wouldn't touch the ground in the next fight.

After hooking my batteries up to charge, I sat down and watched a few fights. Eventually my next match was put on the board, and I was scheduled to fight another of Ian Matthew's bots: TBA 12. It was a very solid 4WD pusher with thick lexan armor all around. I wasn't exactly feeling completely confident about this match.

TBA 12

I don't remember much from this fight except for the fact that TBA easily pushed me around. As v2 pushed back, the strips of neoprene I had put on the wheels peeled off one by one. causing the shaft collar to rest on the ground again and preventing me form spinning up the blade. I doubt it would have done much damage if I had gotten it to full speed, though. The fight ended in some sort of judges decision in favor of TBA 12. I don't think it was even close. I brought Kris back to my table, hooked the batteries up to the charger, and waited for the rumbles.

Soon the antweight rumble was held, and after that was the beetles. In the rumble, there was:

The Yattering

Mangle-Gore

Cat Scratch

TBA
I was pretty confident that Hooloovoo would do well in it, seeing as he had won the HoN rumble. When it started, Mangle-Gore and I ran straight for eachother. We met head-to-head and even with his magnetic wheels, I was able to push him a little bit. His hammer was much stronger than at HoN, and he dented Hooloovoo's Aluminum wedge quite a bit, but not causing any real damage.

Dents from Mangle-Gore
TBA and Yattering were busy beating up on Cat Scratch in another part of the arena, but soon The Yattering zipped over to us and came up behind Hooloovoo. Because the end of my 'wedge' wasn't exactly anywhere near the ground, his spiked drum easily lifted it off the ground and tipped Hooloovoo forward into a face-plant on the Titanium plow. In the process, he also ripped my power cord apart that was supposed to be protected underneath the wedge. This disconnected Hooloovoo's battery power, and I had to sit and watch the rest of the rumble, including Sam's vain attempt to knock Hooloovoo back onto his wheels.

In the end I think The Yattering won by a well-deserved crowd's decision. Next to come was the 12lb'ers rumble. I can't remember all of the bots in this, so I'm not going to even try naming them all. Before the fight, I had run out of extra neoprene for Kris's wheels, so the weapon shaft was going to be dragging partly on the ground for the rumble. When it started, the weapon shaft had slid so much, the wheels were barely touching the ground. I was able to turn in a slow circle, the offset of the wheels giving me intermittent movement. I remember Fork bot coming up under me and driving both of us into the wall. We were stuck there for a while until someone freed us and I think I got knocked onto my back again. In the end I forget who won, but it definitely wasn't as much fun as the Beetle rumble.

Since I had no more fights to look forward to, I Got out my camera and wandered around the pits, taking more pics of different bots.

-Morningstar, now a true walker. Eric did an amazing job with the design -Anaphoric Antagonist... A nice 12lb'er from Team Radicus, but wasn't able to compete
-Bad Grammar... prior to being put together in a hurry by Tony -Sloppy Spelling.. a shuffling Team Radicus creation
-A 12lb'er... forget the name -P.I.T.B., an awesome and powerful bot
-A Gilleski bot... forget the name -ditto
-An AW... forget the name -A bot built by the Cat Scratch guys that didn't compete

-A panorama I took from the top bench of the bleachers

The next day I stayed at the club till after lunch, watching lots of great battles, but eventually we had to get back on the road for the five hour drive. Overall, it was a great event and I can't wait to return for more Lazy Toad action :)
